One of the standout features of this recipe is the tenderness and juiciness of the chicken breast. The secret lies in the preparation: each chicken breast is carefully pounded to an even thickness before being coated in a mixture of grated Parmesan cheese and breadcrumbs. This coating forms a crispy, golden-brown crust that locks in the chicken’s moisture, ensuring that each bite is bursting with flavor.

The presentation of this dish is truly a feast for the eyes. The Parmesan crust gives the chicken a beautiful texture, and when drizzled with the velvety lemon butter sauce, it creates a striking visual contrast. Garnish with a sprinkle of fresh herbs or a lemon slice for an added touch of elegance that transforms your dinner table into a gourmet experience.

What makes this Parmesan Crusted Chicken even more appealing is its budget-friendly nature. With simple and readily available ingredients, you can create a restaurant-quality meal without breaking the bank. Chicken breasts, Parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, and lemons are affordable staples that can be found in most kitchens or easily acquired at your local grocery store.

Instructions

  • Halve the chicken breasts lengthwise, then gently pound with a meat mallet for uniform thickness.
  • Combine the ingredients for the egg mixture in a bowl and whisk. In another bowl, mix the components for the parmesan mixture. Dip the chicken into the egg mixture, then coat it with the parmesan mixture, shaking off any excess from both bowls.
  • Heat enough oil in a large skillet to cover the bottom. When hot, add the chicken and cook for 4-5 minutes per side, until they’re crisp, golden, and reach an internal temperature of 165˚F as measured by an Instant Read Thermometer. Lower the heat if browning occurs too quickly.
  • In a separate saucepan, melt butter and garlic, cooking until aromatic. Introduce chicken broth, lemon juice, and pepper to the saucepan. Let the sauce simmer for about 2 minutes. Pour this sauce over the cooked chicken, ensuring even coating. Optionally, adorn with lemon slices and finely chopped parsley for extra flair.

This tasted great but the recipe is hard to determine what goes in the dry and wet dredge . I added some zest from the lemons to the Parmesan mixture. I just left the eggs as the only ingredient in the wet and put the rest of the seasoning in the Parmesan, unused garlic powder as wet garlic wouldn’t do well. Overall I’d donut again

So what do you use in the wet ingredients and the dry ingredients is very confusing recipe

I am so sorry for the confusion! I have updated the recipe card so that everyone can see which ingredients are the wet and which are the dry going forward 🙂

Excellent! Wow! This recipe is a keeper for sure! I did very little tweaking. I used 1/3 cup of juice and broth just to ensure there was plenty, and I added garlic powder and onion powder to the egg mixture. That’s it! Served with spaghetti noodles with the sauce poured over everything. So good, thank you!
