Preheat your oven to 350F and position the rack in the upper third of the oven. Get your cheeses ready.
In a skillet, heat the oil and sauté the onion over medium-high heat for 4-5 minutes.
Add the ground beef and garlic, cooking until it’s browned and fully cooked (about 8 minutes). If there’s excess fat, remove it. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper.
Stir in 2 cups of the marinara sauce into the beef mixture, ensuring it’s well combined and heated.
Grease a 9x13 baking dish and evenly spread the remaining 1 cup of marinara sauce along the bottom.
Layer half of the ravioli in the baking dish, with some overlapping. Follow with half of the beef mixture and half of each type of cheese. Repeat to create two layers, finishing with a cheese layer on top.
Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and broil for a few minutes until the cheese is nicely bubbly and browned. Serve immediately.
