Prepare the crust mix before cooking steak. Mix 2 tablespoons grated parmesan with 1/4 cup ranch dressing.
Combine breadcrumbs, garlic powder, and 2 tablespoons parmesan. Melt butter, pour in, and saturate. Set aside for steak topping.
Season 1.5 pounds of top sirloin steaks with salt and pepper. Preheat the oven to broil.
Cook steaks just below desired doneness, top with dressing, and add buttered breadcrumb mix. Broil for 1-2 minutes until topping browns.
Allow a brief rest due to the crust cooling faster than the steak. For detailed steak cooking instructions, refer below.
Notes
- For keto, omit breadcrumbs and butter. Use only ranch dressing and parmesan on top.
- Use freshly grated parmesan for proper melting. Choose quality from a cheese department.
- Any steak cut works; pictured are New York strip steaks, but filet mignon is a favorite when affordable.
