Crispy Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich

Crispy Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich: crunchy, sweet, and spicy. A super tasty bite you'll love!

Ingredients
 

  • 4 chicken breasts boneless, skinless
  • 2 cup buttermilk
  • 2 tablespoons hot sauce Frank’s Red Hot preferred
  • 2 large eggs beaten
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup panko bread crumbs
  • 1 tablespoon Slap Yo Momma seasoning
  • 1/2 tablespoon seasoning salt
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • vegetable oil for frying
  • Hot Honey Sauce:
  • ½ cup Frank’s Red Hot Sauce
  • ¼ cup Lemon Juice
  • ¼ cup Honey
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 1 teaspoon Slap Yo Momma seasoning

Instructions
 

  • Slice the chicken breasts into 2 pieces each and place them in a bowl with buttermilk, and hot sauce for 30 minutes.
  • Prepare two bowls: one with beaten eggs and the other with a mixture of flour, Panko bread crumbs and spices.
  • Coat each chicken piece first in the flour mixture, then dip in the eggs, and coat again in the flour mixture.
  • Gently remove excess flour and arrange the coated chicken on a baking sheet.
  • Repeat the process for all the pieces.
  • Heat about two inches of oil in a large deep pan over medium-high heat to reach 350 degrees.
  • Fry the chicken in small batches for 5-7 minutes or until they turn a golden brown color.
  • Sauce:
  • Preheat a skillet over medium heat and add the butter, allowing it to melt. Once melted, add the hot sauce, honey, lemon juice, and seasonings to the skillet.
  • Stir the mixture thoroughly until fully combined. Let it simmer for two minutes, continuing to stir as the sauce thickens.
  • Transfer the sauce to a bowl or toss the chicken directly in the sauce.
  • Assemble your sandwich with your favorite toppings and enjoy!
